About My Journey

Michael is a bridge-builder between timeless storytelling and the frontier of Artificial Intelligence. With over 30 years of experience, Michael has written or co-authored more than 90 features and episodes—including the record-breaking adaptation of Ugly Betty (685 episodes), which earned him a German Emmy and a Rose d’Or.

His career has been defined by helping stories make the leap from a desk drawer to the global screen. He has collaborated with industry leaders like Frank Spotnitz and Daniel Cerone, and his clients have seen their work land at Sony, Universal, and Netflix.

Today, Michael applies this narrative expertise to technical architecture. At Meta (Rose Int), he helps develop safe, relatable AI characters by grounding them in the “social code” of storytelling. This work led to the creation of The Narrative Lab and The Toolbox, a curated ecosystem designed to help writers and developers alike stress-test their characters against the foundational rules of the masters.

Whether consulting for Netflix or serving on the selection committee for the German Television Academy, Michael remains dedicated to one goal: ensuring every unique voice finds its most resilient form.
